Serve Happiness Foundation (SEHFOU) and Voice of the Voiceless (VOV) put smiles to over 120 vulnerable children in the NW & SW Region of Cameroon
SEHFOU and VOV through its support scheme encourage back to school, given the financial difficulties brought about by the sociopolitical crises in the Northwest and Southwest Region has on the 30th and 31st of August 2023, distributed didactic materials to 120 most vulnerable children, in Barombi-kang, Ediki , Mabonji, mile-16 Buea and Nkwen- Bamenda in the NW & SW region of Cameroon.
The 120 most vulnerable children received learning materials consisting of (school bags, books, pens, pencils, rulers, and eraser) to kick start with the academic year 2023-2024.
The beneficiaries, community leaders and teachers have expressed their sincere gratitude to SEHFOU and VOV for their timely intervention. According to the humanitarian need overview, April 2022, only 9percent of educational needs are met (19,097 out of 210,000) from displaced school aged population within the NW & SW Region. Faced with city realities of high living standards and unemployment, most internally displaced persons live in extremely deplorable conditions such as the lack of water and sanitation facilities, no food, no source of income, no means of education etc. so there is need to meet more vulnerable children as every child has right to education.
